Gun Holster
What is a Glock holster? It’s any holster that will fit a Glock handgun, or in our case, the GST-9 — which is an 80% polymer frame that’s based on the Glock Gen 1-3 design. That means if you’re currently a Glock pistol owner, your existing holsters will work perfectly with your next GST-9 build!
What is a Kydex Holster?
Kydex holsters are all the rage these days, and have been for quite some time now. Kydex has actually been in wide use since the 1960s with its use beginning in aircraft and automobile interior parts. Today, it can be used for just about anything. As far as holsters go, a couple square pieces of kydex are used to sandwich a handgun in the middle while being heated up to create a mold. If the mold is done well, you’ll be able to experience extremely strong retention so that you never have to worry about having your pistol fall out of its holster.
IWB Holsters
‘IWB’ stands for in-waistband which refers to where holsters are positioned on your belt. Another easy way to remember this is simply that IWB holsters go inside your pants. Glock IWB holsters made out of kydex and other hybrid materials are plentiful with tons of them being sold by several brands online. Check out our blog to see what the best IWB holster for Glock 19 pistols look like.
OWB Holster
‘OWB’ stands for outside-the-waistband which refers to where you place your holster while wearing a belt. Just remember, OWB holsters go outside of your pants. For the best OWB holster for Glock 19 or your new GST-9, check out our previous blog on that.
Shoulder Holsters
Are your pants heavy enough already with all the stuff you’re carrying in and on it? (Keys, wallet, Airpods, flash light, knife, etc.) Maybe kydex IWB and OWB Glock holsters aren’t for you. Perhaps a shoulder holster is what you want to take some of that weight off of your waist and onto your back instead. Plus, if you wear a loose enough jacket, you won’t have to worry about printing anymore either.
