We Join Lawsuit to Fight for 80% Nationwide!
80 Percent Arms Teams Up With The FPC To Protect Your Rights!
As we had stated in a previous blog post, in an audacious attempt to violate your second amendment right, California has filed a lawsuit against the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (also known as the A.T.F.) to ban 80% receivers throughout the whole country. They are suing the ATF in an attempt to have them change the definition of what qualifies as a “non-firearm object” as defined by the Gun Control Act of 1968 (GCA).
The ATF, on multiple occasions, has defined what is classified as a “non-firearm object”. The ATF has long held that items such as a receiver blank, "castings", or "machined bodies" in which the fire-control group area is completely solid and un-machined, have not reached the "stage of manufacture" which would result in the classification of a firearm according to the GCA. This information was just reviewed by the ATF on April 6th, 2020 as stated on their website.
What is this Lawsuit About?
Our friend Reno May did a great breakdown of the filing in the above video.
We have no intention of just sitting by and watching as gun-grabbers try to destroy our constitutional rights. This is why we are happy to announce that we have teamed up with the Firearm Policy Coalition (or the FPC for short) and have filed a motion to intervene against this lawsuit.
For the unaware, filing an intervention allows us to have a voice in this lawsuit due to the fact that we will be directly affected by the outcome of this lawsuit. The ATF, being the defendant in this lawsuit, has no real stake in the outcome of these proceedings. This is completely unfair to the millions of Americans who will become felons if the judge overseeing this lawsuit were to rule in favor of the gun-grabbers. As well as having a whole American industry affected by the outcome. The ATF, which is a federal agency, must consider a wide range of views, some of which may conflict with the interests of the American public who will be affected by this lawsuit.
The Firearm Policy Coalition
The FPC is a nonprofit organization and has been a huge player in the fight to preserve your second amendment right to bear arms throughout our country. And while they have some major victories in their (and our) home state of California, they fight everywhere.. When any state government, politician, or individual threatens your right to bear arms, you can count on the FPC to show up and put up fierce opposition to it.
FPC’s mission is to protect and defend constitutional rights—especially the right to keep and bear arms—advance individual liberty, and restore freedom through litigation and legal action, legislative and regulatory action, education, outreach, grassroots activism, and other programs.
If you would like to learn more about the FPC, you can visit their website HERE
How can you help?
At this point, you may be wondering what you can do to help us in this fight. We promise you, you are not helpless in this fight.
The FPC has a grassroots membership program to help support them in their fight to preserve our rights. If a monthly donation is just not an option for you do not worry, they also accept one time donations, as well as have a merch store where all the proceeds go to supporting their efforts.
You can also spread the word. We (as a community) were able to stop the ATFs decision to ban the Honey Badger pistol brace by making enough noise. Spreading word that there is a fight going on can only help to embolden and strengthen our side. So please, spread the word, support the FPC, and help us all fight for our constitutional rights!
