GOA Alert: If they can ban ammo, won’t need to ban guns

The relentless attempts to curtail our Second Amendment rights continue, but this time it's not the firearms directly under threat—it's the ammunition. Over 90% of the ammunition shot in the U.S. contains lead, a cost-effective material that ensures everyone can enjoy their rights without financial burdens.
The Biden Administration is advancing plans to ban lead ammunition in eight National Wildlife Refuges in the eastern U.S., with a wider aim to encompass all federal lands—nearly 30% of the country. This is not an isolated incident. Similar attempts have been made in the past decade, but each was thwarted thanks to the vigilance of the pro-Second Amendment community.
The left argues this is for environmental reasons… So the poster child of gun laws, California, banned lead ammo in the state in order to help the condor population. And surprise surprise, since the ban in 2007 the lead levels have continued to rise. These bans don't necessarily lead to healthier wildlife or safer human consumption of game. In reality, it's an attempt to price many Americans out of participating in hunting and shooting sports, especially as non-lead ammunition can be up to four times more expensive.
But there's good news: until August 22, the Federal Government is accepting public comments on this proposal. The Gun Owners of America (GOA) urges all supporters of the Second Amendment to make their voices heard. This is our moment to stand together and defend our rights.
Please act today to help protect our liberties. Voice your concerns, support the GOA, and ensure our traditions continue for future generations.
OSD Explains Government’s Anti-2A Actions

The government’s stance on firearms has taken a decidedly intricate turn, and it's clear that this complexity is intentional and strategic. Laws like New York's
patchwork carry regulations and the SAFE Act's assault weapon provisions are not just detailed but crafted in such a way that they easily ensnare even the most cautious gun owners.
The ATF's ambiguous regulations on at-home gun manufacturing exemplify this. Rather than offering clarity, they leave sellers and buyers in treacherous terrain of shifting interpretations. This isn't mere oversight; it's a conscious tactic to deter and stigmatize gun ownership.
This deliberate obfuscation is not just an inconvenience; it's a strategic maneuver. The more challenging and risky it becomes to own a firearm legally, the fewer individuals will take up the mantle of gun rights. Seeing how they can take them away right now, they will introduce legislation to impact us in 5-10 years. As these tactics evolve, the essence of the Second Amendment is under threat.
LAPD lack in new hires and recruits - no surprise in liberal strongholds

“‘Civil rights’ used to be about treating everyone the same. Today, special treatment is so expected that equality feels like discrimination,” opined Thomas Sowell. The imbalance in ideologies on the LA City Council is evident, raising the question: where are the conservatives?
Anti-policing sentiments, especially among far-left influencers in LA, have led to a “crisis of policing.” LAPD's numbers have dwindled, dipping below the 9,000 mark for the first time since the 1990s. The fallout? Fewer officers to address “petty crimes.” This echoes Mayor Rudy Giuliani's 1990s warning about unchecked minor crimes spiraling into major criminal activities.
But the LAPD issue is just the tip of the iceberg. The recent Kids Online Safety Act ( KOSA) may seem benign with its intent to protect the youth online, but its implications are profound. KOSA proposes an ambiguous "duty of care" for online platforms catering to under 17s. This vague term, combined with a laundry list of "harms," pushes platforms towards restrictive policies that might chill free speech. And while KOSA claims not to mandate age verification, platforms may still lean towards age gating, potentially infringing on the First Amendment right to anonymous speech.
The broader lesson? Actions paraded as "for the greater good" need scrutiny. From LA’s streets to online spaces, it’s crucial to discern what we're truly sacrificing. These liberal strongholds are reaping what they sow but either can't see the problems they cause or truly do not care.
