NRA FILES FOR BANKRUPTCY
The National Rifle Association on Friday filed for bankruptcy protection as part of a restructuring plan aimed at moving to Texas to free themselves of political corruption in New York.
In the words of the NRA: "The plan can be summed up quite simply: We are DUMPING New York, and we are pursuing plans to reincorporate the NRA in Texas. To facilitate the strategic plan and restructuring, the NRA and one of its subsidiaries filed voluntary chapter 11 petitions in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas, Dallas Division. As you may know, chapter 11 proceedings are often utilized by businesses, nonprofits and organizations of all kinds to streamline legal and financial affairs.
Under the plan, the NRA will continue what we’ve always done – confronting anti-gun, anti-self-defense and anti-hunting activities and promoting constitutional advocacy that helps law-abiding Americans. Our work will continue as it always has. No major changes are expected to the NRA’s operations or workforce."
You could ask that the case be thrown out entirely, since the NRA admitted that they're not actually bankrupt. Although if the case moves forward, it could greatly harm the organization
IMPENDING ATTACK ON 2A FROM BIG TECH
You may have heard (or maybe you haven’t due to extreme censorship) that 2A groups and activists are being censored.
YouTube is notorious for cracking down on gun channels. Pro 2A Youtuber Iraqvertan888 once expressed these concerns in an interview: “We’re outnumbered, dare I say algorithmically as well. Our voices collectively are censored, in some cases algorithmically, in others, outright pulled down. Videos are pulled down because they don’t support the narrative, and it goes to show hypocrisy.”
Meanwhile, other social media platforms have been using ‘fact checking’ websites to declare “fake news.” However, in some cases like Donald Trump being banned from twitter, it displayed that they’re acting quickly against disfavored viewpoints. Those are just a few examples, but the existential danger is clearly there.
MARYLAND, VIRGINIA, AND DC GO AFTER ATF
Sound familiar? Even though the ATF had declared that these rifle receivers and handgun frames were not considered firearms because they lacked certain characteristics, the Attorney Generals of D.C., Maryland and Virginia have joined 16 other US states in a lawsuit that would crack down on what these groups refer to as “ghost guns.”
Up until 2017, an 80% lower, or a "ghost gun" had never been recovered from a crime scene. However, in recent years Police in the D.C. Metro area have seen a large spike in the criminal possession of ghost guns. However, the rate of firearms recovered in total by the police, has stayed the same per-capita. What does that mean? That just because some criminals are using ghost guns, there aren't any more firearms in criminal hands than there ever were. Just further proof that firearms laws are only infringements on law-abiding citizens.
